Sandygast is a Ghost/Ground type Pokémon introduced in Generation VII.
Type: Ghost / Ground
Abilities: - Water Compaction: When hit by a Water-type move, Sandygast's Defense stat increases. - Hidden Ability: Sand Veil: Increases Sandygast's evasion in a sandstorm.
Physical Characteristics: - Resembles a sand castle with a single spire, two stubby arms, and a moat surrounding it. - Has a tunnel for a mouth and deep-set, round eyes. - Its shovel on top acts like a radar.
Behavior and Habitat: - Known to control children and make them add sand to its body so it can become bigger. - Lives on beaches and in sandy areas.
In Battle: - Its ability, Water Compaction, allows it to take advantage of Water type moves aimed against it. - Specializes in Defense and Special Defense, making it a good tank.
Evolution: - Evolves into Palossand at level 42.
Interesting Facts: - Sandygast emerges from the grudges of Pokémon and other creatures soaked into the sand after they fall in battle. - In old tales, it is said to be the ruined castles of civilizations long past. - The tunnel-like mouth can suck the vitality from people and Pokémon, which is then used to build up its sand body.
