Summary

Sandstorm is a Rock-type status move with no power or accuracy rating as it does not directly inflict damage. When used, Sandstorm creates a weather effect that lasts for five turns. During this period, it deals 1/16 of the maximum HP as chip damage at the end of each turn to all Pokémon that are not Rock, Ground, or Steel types, who are immune to this effect. Sandstorm also boosts the Special Defense of Rock-type Pokémon by 50% while it is in effect. Additionally, certain abilities and moves perform differently during a Sandstorm, such as Sand Veil, which increases a Pokémon’s evasion, and moves like Solar Beam, which have reduced power.
