Dig is a Ground-type move with 80 power and 100% accuracy. It is a two-turn attack where the user digs underground on the first turn to avoid most attacks and then strikes on the second turn. Dig can also be used outside of battle to escape from caves and other locations in the Pokémon games. This move is not only useful in terms of offense but also provides a strategic advantage by making the user invulnerable for a turn. Additionally, Dig has the ability to hit Pokémon that are using some avoidance moves like Fly if timed correctly.
Inflicts regular damage. User digs underground for one turn, becoming immune to attack, and hits on the second turn. During the immune turn, earthquake, fissure, and magnitude still hit the user normally, and their power is doubled if appropriate. The user may be hit during its immune turn if under the effect of lock on, mind reader, or no guard. This move cannot be selected by sleep talk.
Short Effect: User digs underground, dodging all attacks, and hits next turn.
