Safeguard is a Normal-type status move with no power or accuracy attributes since it does not deal damage. When used, it creates a protective field around the user's team that prevents all status conditions (such as poison, paralysis, sleep, burn, and freeze) for five turns. Safeguard is particularly useful in both casual and competitive play to guard against status moves and conditions that could hinder a team's performance. It does not protect against the effects of status moves that do not inflict conditions (like Confuse Ray) and does not heal already present status effects.
