Wooloo
Wooloo is a Sheep Pokémon introduced in Generation VIII of the Pokémon series.
Type: Normal
Abilities:
- Fluffy: The Fluffy ability halves the damage Wooloo receives from moves that make direct contact, but in contradiction, it doubles the damage of Fire-type moves.
- Run Away: This ensures that Wooloo can always escape from wild encounters.
- Hidden Ability: Bulletproof - This ability protects Wooloo from certain ball and bomb-themed moves.
Physical Characteristics:
- Noted for its fluffy and soft wool, Wooloo is highly prized by weavers.
- It sports a black face, ears, and legs, with striking, round blue eyes.
- Wooloo possesses two wool-wrapped horns, with the right horn displaying marginal dominance in size over the left.
Behavior and Habitat:
- Wooloos are tranquilly disposed and prefer living in flocks. Every conflict is avoided by simply adopting a defensive strategy of rolling away when threatened.
- They predominantly inhabit grassy fields and meadows within the Galar region.
In Battle:
- The Fluffy ability of Wooloo allows it to shrink the damage from physical moves, rendering it a valuable defensive Pokémon.
- However, it is not immune to weaknesses, being susceptible to Fighting-type moves and particularly vulnerable to Fire-type moves due to its Fluffy ability.
Evolution:
- Upon reaching level 24, Wooloo evolves into Dubwool.
Interesting Facts:
- Wooloo's design draws its inspiration from the Blackface sheep, a breed prevalent in the United Kingdom- the real-world analog for Galar.
- Wooloo's fur, when shed, is put to use for crafting items such as clothes and carpets, and is highly sought after as a specialty product in the Galar region.
- The anime depicts that under the placid exterior of a Wooloo lies the potential of powerful rolling speed.
