Rapid Spin is a Normal-type move with 50 power and 100% accuracy. In addition to dealing damage, Rapid Spin removes certain effects on the user’s side of the field, such as binding moves (like Wrap and Fire Spin), Leech Seed, Spikes, Stealth Rock, and Toxic Spikes. Furthermore, starting from Generation VIII, Rapid Spin also increases the user’s Speed stat by one stage after use. Despite its relatively low power, Rapid Spin is highly valued in competitive play for its utility in clearing entry hazards and providing momentum with the Speed boost.
Inflicts regular damage. Removes leech seed from the user, frees the user from bind, clamp, fire spin, magma storm, sand tomb, whirlpool, and wrap, and clears spikes, stealth rock, and toxic spikes from the user's side of the field. If this move misses or has no effect, its effect doesn't activate.
Short Effect: Frees the user from binding moves, removes Leech Seed, and blows away Spikes.
