Hustle
Hustle is a Pokémon ability that significantly impacts both offensive and defensive gameplay. Introduced in Generation II, Hustle increases the user's Attack stat by 50%, providing a substantial boost to physical attacks. However, this power comes with a notable drawback: it reduces the accuracy of the user's physical moves to 80% of their original accuracy. For instance, a move like Rock Slide, which typically has an accuracy of 90%, drops to 72% when used by a Pokémon with Hustle.
This trade-off makes Hustle a high-risk, high-reward ability. Pokémon with Hustle, such as Durant or Togekiss, can dish out significant damage but may miss their attacks more frequently. This missed accuracy can be mitigated somewhat through items like Wide Lens, which boosts accuracy by 10%, or through moves that boost accuracy like Hone Claws.
