Sheer Force is an ability in the Pokémon series that enhances the offensive capabilities of the Pokémon that possess it. The primary effect of Sheer Force is that it increases the power of moves that have secondary effects by 30%. However, this comes at the cost of negating those secondary effects. Secondary effects can include additional effects like causing status conditions, flinching, or stat changes that would normally occur with the move.
For example, a move like Flamethrower, which has a 10% chance to burn the target, would have its power increased from 90 to 117 (90 x 1.3) but would lose its ability to burn. This trade-off can be highly advantageous in competitive play, where raw power and predictability often outweigh the benefits of secondary effects.

Effects
- This Pokémon's moves with extra effects have 1.3× their power, but lose their extra effects. An effect chance is a move's chance to inflict a status ailment, cause a stat change, or make the target flinch in addition to the move's main effect. For example, thunder shock's paralysis is an extra effect, but thunder wave's is not, nor are knock off's item removal and air cutter's increased critical hit rate. Moves that lower the user's stats are unaffected.
