Pressure

Summary

Pressure is an ability in the Pokémon games that primarily serves to deplete the Power Points (PP) of an opponent's moves more rapidly during battle. When a Pokémon with Pressure is targeted by an opposing Pokémon's move, that move uses an extra PP. In other words, for every move used against a Pokémon with Pressure, the opponent's move will consume 2 PP instead of the usual 1 PP.

Effects: 1. PP Reduction: Pressure effectively halves the number of times an opponent can use their move by making each use consume 2 PP instead of 1. This can be particularly useful in longer battles, such as in competitive play or against certain trainers where move conservation is crucial. 2. Psychological Pressure: It can also create a tactical advantage by pressuring the opponent to reconsider using their most powerful or limited-PP moves too freely.

Moves targetting this Pokémon use one extra PP. This ability stacks if multiple targets have it. This ability still affects moves that fail or miss. This ability does not affect ally moves that target either the entire field or just its side, nor this Pokémon's self-targetted moves; it does, however, affect single-targetted ally moves aimed at this Pokémon, ally moves that target all other Pokémon, and opponents' moves that target the entire field. If this ability raises a move's PP cost above its remaining PP, it will use all remaining PP. When this Pokémon enters battle, all participating trainers are notified that it has this ability. Overworld: If the lead Pokémon has this ability, higher-levelled Pokémon have their encounter rate increased.
