Wave Incense is a held item in the Pokémon series that primarily boosts the power of Water-type moves by 20% when held by a Pokémon. This item is particularly useful for enhancing the damage output of Water-type Pokémon or those that frequently use Water-type moves. It's often employed strategically in competitive play to amplify the effectiveness of moves like Surf, Hydro Pump, and Scald, ensuring that Water-type attacks hit even harder.
In addition to its battle utility, the Wave Incense has another significant role in Pokémon breeding. When held by a Mantine during breeding, it ensures that the resulting offspring will be a Mantyke, the pre-evolved form of Mantine. This is part of a broader mechanic within the game where certain Incense items are required to produce specific baby Pokémon that would otherwise not be obtainable.
