TM42 (Facade) is a Technical Machine (TM) that can be used to teach the move Facade to compatible Pokémon in Pokémon games. The move Facade has a base power of 70 and is a Normal-type physical attack. Its primary appeal lies in its unique ability to double its power from 70 to 140 if the user is inflicted with a status condition, such as paralysis, burn, or poison.
This makes Facade an incredibly effective move for Pokémon that are either designed to exploit status conditions or are likely to be inflicted with them during battle. For instance, a Pokémon using a strategy that includes the Flame Orb or Toxic Orb items can activate Facade's power enhancement by intentionally burning or poisoning itself. This tactic allows the Pokémon to deal significant damage while benefiting from the increased power of Facade.
Additionally, since Facade is a Normal-type move, it receives a same-type attack bonus (STAB) when used by Normal-type Pokémon, further boosting its potential damage
