TM41, known as Torment, is a Technical Machine (TM) in the Pokémon series that teaches the move Torment to a compatible Pokémon. Torment is a non-damaging Dark-type move introduced in Generation III. When a Pokémon is under the effect of Torment, it is prevented from using the same move consecutively, which can disrupt strategies that rely on repetitive use of powerful moves.
Effects: - Type: Dark - Power: None (status move) - PP: 15 (max 24) - Accuracy: 100% - Targets the opponent, making it unable to use the same move twice in a row for the duration of the battle unless the effect is removed.
Competitive Use: - Torment can effectively shut down moves with high PP but low versatility, like Seismic Toss or certain setup moves. - It is particularly useful in stalling strategies, where forcing the opponent to switch moves can disrupt their setup and potentially give the user an advantage
