Spooky Plate is a held item introduced in Generation IV of the Pokémon series. It is designed to enhance the power of Ghost-type moves when held by a Pokémon. Specifically, the Spooky Plate boosts the power of the holder's Ghost-type moves by 20%, making it a strategic item for strengthening attacks like Shadow Ball, Shadow Claw, and Phantom Force.

An interesting gameplay role of the Spooky Plate is its interaction with Arceus, the Mythical Pokémon known for its Multitype ability. When Arceus holds the Spooky Plate, it changes its type to Ghost, allowing it to utilize Ghost-type moves more effectively and benefit from the STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) associated with Ghost-types. Consequently, Arceus' signature move, Judgment, becomes a Ghost-type move when it holds the Spooky Plate.
