Crafting Shoal Bell: Shoal Salt is primarily used in combination with Shoal Shells to craft the Shoal Bell. In Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, as well as their remakes Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, players can collect four Shoal Salts and four Shoal Shells and bring them to an old man in Shoal Cave to receive a Shoal Bell. The Shoal Bell is a held item that increases a Pokémon's friendship with its trainer.
