Root Fossil is a unique item in the Pokémon series that can be used to revive an ancient Pokémon. Initially introduced in Generation III (Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire), the Root Fossil allows players to resurrect the Rock/Grass-type Pokémon Lileep when taken to a specific location known as a Pokémon Laboratory or a similar facility that specializes in fossil regeneration, such as the Devon Corporation in Hoenn, the Oreburgh Mining Museum in Sinnoh, or the Nacrene Museum in Unova.
Effects and Usage: 1. Revival of Lileep: When the Root Fossil is given to the appropriate NPC, it will be transformed into a Level 5 Lileep. Lileep can then be evolved into Cradily, a Rock/Grass-type Pokémon that is known for its defensive stats and unique move set. 2.
