Qualot Berry

Summary

Qualot Berry is a consumable item in the Pokémon series with several distinct effects and uses both in- and outside of battle.

Primary Effect: When a Pokémon holding a Qualot Berry consumes it during battle (triggered when its HP falls to 25% or below), it restores 1/8th of the Pokémon’s maximum HP. However, as part of a group of "Bitter Berries," it also decreases the Pokémon's friendship (happiness) by 10 points if its friendship is 100 or more, or by 5 points if its friendship is lower than 100.
Secondary Effect: Outside of battle, Qualot Berry can be used to reduce a Pokémon's base Defense EVs (Effort Values) by 10 points. This is particularly useful for trainers looking to re-allocate a Pokémon's stats for competitive battling or to correct mistakes made during EV training.
Cultivation: In certain Pokémon games where Berry

POKéBLOCK ingredient. Plant in loamy soil to grow QUALOT.

Makes a POKéMON friendly but lowers base DEFENSE.
