Summary
Poke Doll is a consumable item in the Pokémon series that allows players to escape from wild Pokémon battles instantly. When used in battle, the Poke Doll mimics a Pokémon, distracting the wild opponent and giving the player a moment to flee safely. This item is particularly useful for avoiding encounters that the player might not be prepared for or when navigating through areas with high-level wild Pokémon.
The Poke Doll first appeared in the Generation I games (Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow) and has since been included in most main series Pokémon games. Its design resembles a small, plush doll of a Clefairy, although some games feature different designs or variations such as the Pokedoll resembling other Pokémon like Substitute.
Additionally, in the original Pokémon Red and Blue versions, the Poke Doll can be used as a workaround to skip the battle with the ghost Marowak in the Pokémon Tower in Lavender Town. This is due to a programming oversight that allows the item to nullify
