Energy Root is a healing item in the Pokémon series, known for its potent restorative effects. When used on a Pokémon, it restores 120 HP, making it a more powerful alternative to the Hyper Potion, which only restores 120 HP up to Generation VII and 200 HP from Generation VIII onwards. Despite its impressive healing capabilities, the Energy Root comes with a catch: it is a bitter herb, which means it decreases the friendship level of the Pokémon that consumes it. This characteristic makes it less desirable for trainers who are focused on maintaining or increasing their Pokémon's friendship, which is vital for certain evolutions and for moves like Return, which increase in power with higher friendship.
