Protosynthesis is an ability introduced in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. It is specific to certain Pokémon that are associated with ancient or primal forms, typically Paradox Pokémon of the past. The primary effect of Protosynthesis is to boost the user's highest stat by 30% (or by 50% if the highest stat is Speed) when the Pokémon is exposed to harsh sunlight or is holding an item called Booster Energy.
