Pickup

Summary

Pickup is an ability in the Pokémon series known for its utility both in and out of battle. Pokémon with this ability have a chance to collect useful items from the field, contributing significantly to a trainer's item inventory without additional cost or effort.

Out of Battle:
Pickup allows Pokémon to randomly find items after battles. The likelihood of finding an item and the type of item depend on the Pokémon's level.
Common items found at lower levels include Potions and Antidotes, while higher-level Pokémon can pick up more valuable items like Hyper Potions, Full Heals, and even Rare Candies or evolution stones.
Even when a Pokémon with Pickup participates in battles but does not hold an item itself, after a battle ends, it has a chance to pick up an item and hold it until the trainer transfers the item to their inventory.

Effects

At the end of each turn, if another Pokémon consumed or Flung a held item that turn, this Pokémon picks up the item if it is not already holding one. After each battle, this Pokémon has a 10% chance of picking up an item if it is not already holding one. The air balloon and eject button cannot be picked up. The items that may be found vary by game, and, since Pokémon Emerald, by the Pokémon's level. This ability is checked after the battle ends, at which point any temporary ability changes have worn off.
