Desolate Land is a unique and powerful ability introduced in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. This ability is exclusive to the Primal Reversion form of Groudon, known as Primal Groudon.

Weather Change: Desolate Land automatically summons extremely harsh sunlight when Primal Groudon enters the battle. This is more potent than standard sunlight, generated by moves like Sunny Day or the ability Drought.

Fire-type Move Boost: The intense sunlight increases the power of Fire-type moves by 50%, making Primal Groudon's Fire-type moves, such as Precipice Blades, significantly more deadly.

Water-type Move Immunity: Desolate Land completely negates the use of Water-type moves while active. This nullification is crucial as it covers Groudon's primary weakness to Water-type attacks, giving it a strategic advantage in battle.

Effects
- When this Pokémon enters battle or gains this ability, the weather becomes extremely harsh sunlight. Extremely harsh sunlight has all the properties of sunny day and also causes damaging Water moves to fail. Extremely harsh sunlight ends when this Pokémon leaves battle or loses this ability, or when this ability is nullified. The weather cannot otherwise be changed except by the effects of delta stream and primordial sea. air lock and cloud nine will prevent the effects of extremely harsh sunlight, including allowing Water moves to work, but will not allow the weather to be changed.
