Adaptability

Adaptability is a Pokémon ability that significantly enhances the power of a Pokémon's same-type attack bonus (STAB) moves. Normally, a Pokémon's STAB moves receive a 50% power boost. However, with Adaptability, this boost is doubled to 100%. This means that a Pokémon with Adaptability will see its STAB moves dealing twice the damage compared to using non-STAB moves of the same power.

Effects:

STAB Enhancement:
A regular Pokémon without Adaptability using a same-type move would see an increase in move power from, for example, 100 to 150.
A Pokémon with Adaptability, however, would increase this power from 100 to 200.

Notable Pokémon with Adaptability:

Mega Beedrill: Upon Mega Evolution, Beedrill gains Adaptability, making its Poison- and Bug-type moves extremely powerful.

This Pokémon inflicts twice as much damage with moves whose types match its own, rather than the usual same-type attack bonus of 1.5×.
