Comatose
Comatose is a Pokémon ability introduced in Generation VII, uniquely associated with the Pokémon Komala. This intriguing ability allows Komala to be in a perpetual state of sleep from a technical standpoint, but without the usual drawbacks of the Sleep status condition.
Effects: 1. Status Immunity: While Komala is effectively "asleep," it is immune to all other major status conditions, including Burn, Paralysis, Poison, and Freeze. This immunity is immensely beneficial, allowing Komala to avoid debilitating effects that can greatly hinder a Pokémon's effectiveness in battle. 2. Sleep-Related Interactions: Since Komala is considered to be always asleep: - It cannot be inflicted with an additional Sleep condition, ensuring that moves like Sleep Powder or Spore are ineffective against it. - If Komala uses a move like Sleep Talk, it functions as though Komala is asleep, allowing the move to select and execute another move from Komala's set.
